I recently sat down with Mashonda, author of Blend. The ex-wife of music producer Swizz Beats discusses healing from her messy divorce, forgiving Alicia Keys and putting her son first. In her new book, Blend, she offers tips for mothers that need healing from breakup and divorce. She also details her unique childhood experience in her very 1st blended family.
I read the book in about a day and it was such a delightful read. Mashonda went back to her humble beginnings and shared moments from her upbringing. She is a prime example of how our childhood experiences shape our future selves. Alicia Keys wrote the forward and her son’s father, Swizz, wrote a chapter for fathers. This book is an excellent piece for women that acknowledge that their coparenting situation needs help. I would definitely suggest this for anyone in a blended family. It’s simply an awesome personal perspective on a family’s journey toward healing.
If you’re interested in buying the book, please consider using my affiliate link for your purchase. I’d greatly appreciate that.
I really wish I had superpowers. If I had to choose one super-power, I would love to be able to teleport. That way, I could have cheese eggs, bacon and grits with my Grandma in Memphis every morning, go for a mid-day swim in Antigua while listening to God, have lunch in Rome with perfect strangers and be home in time for dinner with my Husband in Harlem, NYC. I also run MissNaja.com- a blog dedicated to Redefining The Domestic Woman.
